Early intervention is important to enable your child succeed in his/her speech and language skills. If the child is not able to commuinicate their needs, they may end up showing a lot of behaviors and frustrations that result from their commuincation difficulties. Studies reveal that One in ten children has speech and language difficulties. Without early identification and treatment, these children are at risk for lifelong learning, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
Critical period studies reveals that earlier the child recives intervention, faster & better their responses are to intervention as the brain is more stimulable to language learning at an younger age.
Also the theory of neuroplasticity suggests that the neurons that fire more (stimulated more) get wired. Be proactive and consider speech and language stimulation in the early years to reduce these risks.
